Since breaking the airwaves in 2000 with their hit Kryptonite, Mississippi band 3 Doors Down has continued to put out a string of hits and maintain a following over the years.
The band, led by vocalist Brad Arnold, played at the intimate Avalon Ballroom inside Fallsview Casino in Niagara Falls, Canada for the first of two sold out shows on May 12, 2016 in support of their latest album Us and the Night released two months prior on March 11, 2016.
The band opened the show with Danko, It’s Not My Time, Citizen Soldier and Changes. Shortly into their set, Arnold commented to the audience how he has seen the Falls many times but that it looks better from the Canadian side. This got a reaction from the somewhat tamed crowd.
It wasn’t until the fourth song into the show when 3 Doors Down played a track, The Broken, off the new album. It would be the first of three songs off Us and the Night that they would play including I Don’t Wanna Know and the first single called In the Dark, a song Arnold says “is a little bit different for us but it’s a lot of fun and I like it.”
Other familiar songs played that night included Loser, Away From the Sun, Be Like That, and Kryptonite. By the end of the show people were up at the stage and it finally looked like rock show was in progress. After Kryptonite, 3 Doors Down left the stage. But that wasn’t the end just yet.
After a few minutes, the band came out and played an encore, starting off with Here With You. After the song finished Arnold announced, “We’re going to play one more song.
“Every time we play this song we dedicate it to every man and every woman and every family who serves our country….God bless you my friends,” said Arnold before finishing the night with When I’m Gone.
