Garbage brought their North American tour to Minneapolis, MN. On Thursday night promoting their fresh released new album Strange Little Birds. The band from Madison last came to the Twin Cities in 2013.
They opened their set their set performing the song Sometimes on a completely dark stage only using strobe lights in five-second bursts. But by the second song I Think I’m Paranoid lead singer Shirley Manson opened up with her unique personality and stage presence by prowling the stage, at times strutting in a circle and then getting up to the front of the stage and engaging with fans behind the barricade.
The other band members – Butch Vig (drums), Duke Erikson (guitar) and Steve Marker (guitar) – were mostly further back of the stage but showed no signs of slowing down. The set list for Minneapolis had the perfect variety of songs spanning their 20 years in the industry and much to the delight of the sold out crowd as they sang along.
Shirley mentioned how excited that the band was to play Minneapolis again, stating that “It was a while coming”. Below is the entire set list and I highly recommend that you go see Garbage if they have a tour stop near you!
