Award-winning singer-songwriter Ken Yates recently shared his brand new single, “Surviving Is Easy“. Complimented with a quirky animated video, the new single is from Yates’ forthcoming album, Quiet Talkers, due out May 22, 2020. The new album features previously released singles “Two Wrongs“, “Quiet Talkers“, and “When We Came Home“. They’ve garnered attention from the likes of CBC Radio One, SiriusXM “North Americana”, Canadian Musician, and Canadian Beats.
“When I was writing this song I was thinking a lot about happiness and all of the things a person needs to feel content about their lives;” shares Yates. “Most of us create problems because we need something to solve, and I think in a weird way that’s when we’re our happiest selves. We survive because we have to, but how often are we able to take a step back and say “ok, things are good”? That’s a question most of us are trying to answer on a daily basis.” These sentiments still ring true, but the song has also taken on a whole new meaning during these difficult times we are facing.
Since the release of his 2016 award-winning album Hunstville, Yates has done two tours with award-winning artist Passenger and supported the likes of Hermitage Green, Jenn Grant, Stu Larsen, and Rose Cousins. For Quiet Talkers, he teamed up again with producer Jim Bryson (Kathleen Edwards, Oh Susanna, Kalle Mattson). Earlier this year Yates completed a US tour with Irish artist Ryan McMullan with stops from New York to Los Angeles. For more info on Ken Yates please visit www.kenyates.com.

Since first planting roots within the Canadian music scene in 2011, Yates has steadily grown a reputation as one of the country’s brightest singer/songwriters. His sound offers the complete package—unforgettable melodies, emotionally charged storytelling, and top-notch guitar chops.
A native of London, Ontario, Yates studied at the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston. His first release, The Backseat EP, came out in 2011, whereupon he got a chance to showcase for fellow Berklee alum John Mayer, who responded with a lengthy blog post that read in part, “Ken Yates wrote a song called ‘I Don’t Wanna Fall In Love.’ This song moved me when I first heard it, and it still does today.”
