Myles Kennedy captivated Toronto with his highly anticipated The Art of Letting Go tour on January 22, 2025. While the weather outside was very cold, the warmth of this intimate venue, The Concert Hall, promised a memorable experience that melted away any chill.
Supporting acts Sons of Silver and Tim Montana elevated the evening. Though I may not have heard of these opening acts before, let me assure you—Tim Montana took me by surprise! His heavy sound and overall vibe truly resonated with me, showcasing an enthusiastic bunch of great musicians who know how to engage a crowd.
Sons of Silver also brought their own flair to the stage, boasting a healthy following on Facebook with 268k fans eagerly awaiting their performance. Their presence alone added an exciting layer to what promised to be a memorable night filled with incredible music and connection.
Myles Kennedy‘s recent performance showcased not just his remarkable talent but also his genuine connection with the audience, a rare gem in today’s music scene. It was nice to see him performing in a smaller venue, where he truly shone as an artist who values interaction. He engaged with fans by asking questions and sharing stories, creating an intimate atmosphere that made everyone feel included.
One of the highlights of the night was when he performed his favorite song, Behind the Veil. His love for the long guitar solo was palpable, and when that moment arrived, the crowd erupted in cheers. The emotion in his playing resonated deeply with everyone present. Another standout moment came during Mars Hotel, where Myles humorously reflected on his past girl problems—an anecdote that had the audience laughing along with him.
Even when he forgot some lyrics during a song, he handled it like a true professional by improvising and acknowledging it had been 20 years since he’d sung those lines. The camaraderie between him and the crowd reached new heights when he performed Alter Bridge’s All Ends Well, prompting enthusiastic sing-alongs from fans who were more than happy to join in.
Myles expressed heartfelt gratitude for everyone braving the cold to attend his show, further solidifying that personal touch we all cherish about live performances. He even shared his love for Tim Hortons bagels and cream cheese while humorously attempting to rhyme “bagel,” leading to spontaneous laughter when a fan shouted “Kegel.”
With distinctive vocals and immaculate guitar playing, Myles Kennedy delivered not just a concert but an experience filled with warmth and joy. It was truly a great night for all who were lucky enough to be there—an unforgettable reminder of why we love live music so much.
