On April 11, 2025, world-renowned composer and pianist Stephan Moccio returned to his hometown of Niagara Falls, Ontario, for a heartfelt performance at the Avalon Theatre inside Fallsview Casino. The concert was part of the celebrations surrounding the 14th Annual Niagara Music Awards, making the evening a true homecoming for the acclaimed musician.

Born in St. Catharines and raised in Niagara Falls, Moccio began playing piano at age three and has since built a global career as a composer, producer, and recording artist. He is best known for co-writing major international hits, including Celine Dion’s “A New Day Has Come,” which topped the Billboard Adult Contemporary chart for a record-breaking 21 weeks, Miley Cyrus’s “Wrecking Ball,” and The Weeknd’s “Earned It.” He also co-wrote “I Believe,” the official theme song of the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics.

Moccio’s recent work, including his solo piano album Lionheart, showcases his unique blend of classical roots and contemporary emotion. The Avalon Theatre’s intimate setting allowed fans to experience his evocative music in a powerful, up-close way—right in the city where his journey first began.
