(St. Catharines, ON) – Local singer/songwriter Ron Sexsmith returned home to perform the final show of his current Canadian tour at FirstOntario Performing Arts Centre in support of his latest album Carousel One on February 26th. It was a great night of music and storytelling. Sexsmith shared some stories about his music and growing up in St. Catharines.
Opening the show was Kevin Hearn (Barenaked Ladies, Rheostatics) who later joined Sexsmith onstage for their rendition of David Bowie’s Kooks. Sexsmith told the crowd he felt a special connection with the late singer because they share the same birthday.
In a couple of months Kevin Hearn will be reuniting with the Rheostatics at Massey Hall in Toronto on April 29th and touring this summer with his Barenaked Ladies bandmates for the Last Summer On Earth Tour which also features Howard Jones and OMD.
It was a great evening enjoyed by all and hopefully we will see Sexsmith return on his next Canadian tour.
