A Perfect Circle, Tricky and Night Club
Rupp Arena

Night Club was first on the Rupp Arena stage. They entertained the crowd with their brand of electric music. Emily Kavanaugh danced her way back and forth across the stage with Mark Brooks behind her spinning some serious beats. Hip Hop artist Tricky was also on this bill with Night Club and A Perfect Circle but he didn’t approve any photographers on this night in Rupp.
To say this tour presented an eclectic mix of music would be an understatement. But I wouldn’t expect anything different from an A Perfect Circle tour.
I knew going in that shooting tonight’s APC show was going to be a challenge and a challenge it was. I had read other show reviews that talked about the light or rather the lack of lighting on the band. It should be obvious from the images that those reviews were dead on. But the show A Perfect Circle put on was impressive! They had a beautiful light show, just none of that light made it onto the band members.
A 19 song set that started with Eat The Elephant and included Weak and Powerless, (What’s So Funny ‘bout) Peace, Love and Understanding and The Contrarian made sure the thousands of APC fans in attendance were satisfied! But the highlight for me was one of my personal favorites and from the reaction of the crowd a lot of others favorite as well Counting Bodies like Sheep. Hearing that song performed live was a truly beautiful thing! I consider myself a fan of A Perfect Circle so I was thrilled to cover them a second time this year. The first time was at Rock on The Range earlier this year where they were the Friday night headliner.
I have been very fortunate this year to cover some very talented bands but you’d have to search hard to find a group of more talented musicians that what played at Rupp Arena on this night. If you weren’t there you missed a stellar show.
