Air Supply
Avalon Ballroom (Inside Fallsview Casino)
Niagara Falls, Ontario
October 4, 2018
Russell Hitchcock and Graham Russell, better known as Air Supply, returned to the Avalon Ballroom for the first of three nights on Oct. 4. The Australian soft rock duo performed a set that didn’t miss a hit song from a career which began when the two met in May 1975 while performing in the Australian production of the Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice musical, Jesus Christ Superstar.
The night began with Sweet Dreams followed by Even the Nights Are better, Every Woman In the World and Here I Am (Just When I thought I was Over You). Hitchcock and Russell told stories throughout the night and Graham Russell, about halfway through the show, read a poem he wrote called Invisible.
Other songs performed included Now and Forever, The One That You Love, Lost In Love and Making Love Out of Nothing At All which ended the main set.
The duo, who announced they recently played their 5,000th show, came out for an encore with the Badfinger cover Without You (which was also cover by Mariah Carey), a more rockier, faster song called Shake It which had the crowd dancing and finished off the night with All Out of Love.
Always a pleasure seeing Air Supply and hopefully not the last time we see them here!
