Music Life Magazine is very excited to have the world premiere video for the single Harden My Heart by Canadian pop artist Christie Palace! Harden My Heart is the first single off Palace’s forthcoming EP.
“I actually wrote this, initially, about an experience I had but I wanted to make it a bit more generic— almost like an “I don’t need anybody” anthem. When I brought it to my team, they loved the idea and we ran with it. I especially love the gang vocals in the choruses. I almost imagine anyone who has ever had their heart broken or who have gone through hardships singing it together. It’s one of those songs that I hope give people strength,” explains Palace adding, ” It’s funny, this was one of the last songs I wrote, but once it was initially written, I knew I wanted it to be the first single, and potentially the name of the new album. It totally captures who I am as an artist.”
Palace, 26, was born and raised in Windsor, Ontario and comes from a musical family.
“I was fortunate to be surrounded by a large family of musicians that instilled and nurtured a love for music into me at a very young age. I was singing as soon as I knew how to talk, and learned to play piano shortly after. I’ve always written songs for as long as I can remember.”
Palace describes her new EP as “mature, edgy, and much bolder than my last album.”
“We’re constantly growing and evolving— that’s what I love about songwriting. I’ve grown so much over the last few
years since my last album, and you can definitely tell through the songs. I recorded this new album in Toronto with two amazing producers and song writers associated with major labels like Sony and Warner, Tal Vaisman and Andre Kaden Black. I brought the songs to them and we wrote and completed them together. I was super stoked about how they turned out.”
Harden My Heart came out on Spotify over two weeks ago and already has over 30,000 hits!
“I am SO excited about that! Honestly, those numbers are growing every day and it is so cool!! I’m just happy people dig it, and found a way to relate to it!”
