Owner / Writer / Photographer / Editor
February 2015
I have been doing music journalism on a freelance basis for over 20 years. I am based out of the Niagara Falls area in Canada.
My love for music journalism began in the early 1990’s while I was enrolled at Niagara College in Welland, Ontario where I obtained a diploma in Journalism-Print in 1992. I had always enjoyed writing and listening to a variety of music. It was while attending college I realized I could combine the two and get photo passes to various concerts. Over the years I have photographed and interviewed many great musicians (established and up-and-coming).
My work has been published in various publications – Pulse Niagara, View Magazine, Extreme Magazine plus various weeklies and dailies.
All my early photography was done with a fully manual Pentax K1000 camera. Just over 10 years ago I decided to take a break from photography and writing. It was only to be for a short time but a short time turned into years. Though I did dabble in it here and there and kept my foot in the door, it wasn’t until about 2 years ago I decided to take the plunge and get back into music photography.
It was time to update my equipment. I now use a Nikon DSLR and have been rebuilding my portfolio.
In May 2014 I obtained a photography diploma from the Photography Institute under the direction of famed photographer David Goldman (Blink 182, Madonna, 60 Minutes, Look-A-Like television show).
And now my journey continues….
