It’s becoming a tradition for Kobra and the Lotus to be in Los Angeles on Memorial Day weekend. Almost a year to date, Kobra and the Lotus in support of their release Prevail l via Napalm Records was on tour with Xandria and Once Human that rocked the Regent Theatre in Los Angeles California.

Sunday, May 27, 2018, on tour with Texas Hippie Coalition, Granny 4 Barrel, and Brand of Julez,  Kobra and the Lotus in support of their release Prevail ll via Napalm Records, along with a couple local bands made a stop at the 1720 Club in Los Angeles, California.

Kobra Paige is the founder, singer, and songwriter of Kobra and the Lotus, based out of Calgary, Alberta in Canada, with phenomenal support around her: guitarist Jasio Kulakowski, bassist Brad Kennedy, and drummer Marcus Lee, including the recent addition of guitarist Ronny Gutierrez. As the pre-recorded track beings to play, Kulakowski, Kennedy, Gutierrez, and Lee hit the stage beginning the opening cords, as Paige enters the stage to the fans cheers, opening with Losing my Humanity from this years release Prevail ll.

Set out on a long journey a couple years back, off a challenge from Paige’s father, to put out a double album, like the good old days. I’m sure there were plenty of emotions that arose, Will the fans like it? Will one record outshine the other, etc.? The double album Prevail l and Prevail ll via Napalm Records is welcomed with rave reviews, their best albums to date, setting the bar high with much success ahead of them. Kobra and the Lotus set was filled with hits from both albums, I personally love the choices, Light Me Up, Let Me Love You and the song that touches me deeply You Don’t Know to name a few.

A support act is not the place for Kobra and the Lotus; they deserve to be the opening act across the board, let’s hope we see that soon.

The North American portion of the tour sadly has come to an end, as Kobra and the Lotus regroup and head to Spain, France and Switzerland through the middle of June. If you haven’t heard or seen Kobra and the Lotus, I’d jump on it and pick up their double album; you won’t be disappointed.
