Steve Earle makes his debut in Niagara Falls Nov. 18th when Steve Earle and the Dukes headline a benefit concert at Scotiabank Convention Centre to help celebrate the 30th anniversary of his debut, Guitar Town. The show is one of four shows in Ontario as part of Light of Day Canada’s 10th Anniversary to help raise money and awareness for Parkinson’s disease.

Celebrating the 30th Anniversary of Steve Earle’s ground breaking debut album Guitar Town, Steve Earle & The Dukes will play their first ever show in Niagara Falls, playing the Guitar Town album in its entirety as well as a selection of songs from his vast catalogue on November 18th at the Scotiabank Convention Centre.

Coming off the biggest event in its history last year with Blue Rodeo at the Meridian Centre, Light of Day Niagara is excited to be celebrating the 10th Anniversary of this Parkinson’s benefit concert with the legendary singer/songwriter Steve Earle. This past summer Steve agreed to do all 4 shows for the Light of Day Canada first ever mini-tour (Kingston, London, Niagara and Toronto) and decided to create a tour to support the Guitar Town 30th Anniversary and will be closing out the tour with four Light of Day Canada shows.

Dave Hodge, from TSN’s The Reports and former Hockey Night in Canada host, hosted Light of Day Hamilton several years ago and is back, taking time out of his busy working schedule to participate at this year’s Light of Day Niagara!

Dave Rotella, a Niagara Falls resident and business owner, started Light of Day Canada in 2007 along with fellow Falls business man Mike Minervini. They were following in the footsteps of Bob Benjamin who founded Light of Day in New Jersey after being diagnosed with the disease in 1997. Benjamin has spent most of his adult life working in the music industry and has utilized his connections to create what has become an international phenomenon. In Canada alone, over the last 9 years, the organization has grown to include shows in Toronto, Hamilton and Kingston and has raised close to $300,000.

“We are thrilled to have one of the most prolific singer/songwriters of our time headlining our 10th Anniversary show,” says Rotella. “Having been a big fan of Steve’s music since the release of Guitar Town in 1986, it is quite exciting to have Steve & The Dukes here in Niagara Falls for the very first time to help us raise more awareness for this horrific disease and to celebrate 10 years in the fight against Parkinson’s.”

The show will feature a full concert by Steve Earle that will include the entire Guitar Town album and songs from his vast catalogue and storied career. Supporting acts include: from Kingston singer-songwriter Miss Emily with her special guests Rob Baker and Gord Sinclair of the Tragically Hip, Joe D’Urso and Stone Caravan, all the way from California Jason Heath & The Greedy Souls with Jason Federici (son of late E Street Band member, Danny Federici) and New Jersey’s Bobby Mahoney and the Seventh Souls.

Multiple Niagara Music Award winner Cory Cruise will be performing acoustically at the show, as well as Niagara’s Rick Rose, Anthony DiCarlo and Evan Rotella (son of Light of Day Canada founder, Dave Rotella).
