What a difference a week makes. When I left Manchester Music Hall last week Mother Nature decided we needed a snow storm, turned what should have been a 2 hour drive into a 5 hour journey. However just the opposite tonight, the weather is beautiful in Lexington for Los Lonely Boys!
Touring with Los Lonely Boys and first on the stage tonight is Lisa Morales. I’d be lying if I said I was familiar with her or her music before tonight. That’s what’s great about going to live shows you are often exposed to music you otherwise would never hear and tonight was one of those pleasant surprises. She is a mixture of several different styles of music that when blended together produce a unique and beautiful sound! It is easy to see why Rolling Stone calls her on the most multifaceted artist to watch this year. She was accompanied on stage by guitarist Paul Ramirez but calling him a mere guitarist is doing him a disservice, after a few scorching guitar solos you will agree! Go see these two your ears will thank me!
I hadn’t heard much from the Los Lonely Boys in a while but that was completely my fault because they’ve been putting out music since the late 90’s. Their latest album Revelation was released in 2014. Henry, Jo Jo and Ringo Garza are polished and an extremely talented band. Henry Garza may be one the most underrated guitar players out there, well the entire band is underrated for that matter. It is easy to see why they are Grammy Award winners! The talent of these guys was on full display from the opening moments until the very last note sounded. They played an absolutely amazing set with “Don’t Walk Away” and “So Sensual” from the latest release Revelation a jaw dropping cover of The Beatles “Day Tripper” and an extended version of their huge hit “Heaven” to close out the show. If you stopped the first ten leaving or the last ten leaving I’d bet every one of them would have a different highlight of this show and it would be hard for me to say what mine would be. The entire show was a highlight! The guys from San Angelo Texas know how to deliver! Do Not Miss These Guys!
As always the staff at Manchester Music Hall is top notch. Manchester Music Hall is a super place to catch live music!
