The Matt Landry Band’s debut album, Are You Ever Gonna Go?, has been nominated for an East Coast Music Award for Blues Recording of the Year.
Landry is one of the finest Blues and rock musicians the Maritimes has to offer. Landry, along with his brother Chris Landry and newest member, bass player Larry Patterson, put on such a great show you would swear you were standing in the heart of Texas.
Matt, a third generation musician, plays a killer statocaster and an electric violin as well as providing lead vocals.
I had the opportunity to take in one of their shows and was impressed with this trio . Matt’s abilities with the strat are among the best I’ve seen and heard. With a guitar flip behind his head to the one handed finger playing on the neck, he puts on a visual show like no other.
Matt is a man of few words when he is playing . His shows consist of pure music and it is difficult to take your eyes off of Matt’s intense guitar playing.
