We’re very excited to present to you Kim Mitchell’s Patio Lanterns by The Smile Case – the first single off their forthcoming album entitled Murder Weather due out Feb. 22, 2019 via Blacktop Records. It was recorded at 460 Studios in Hemlock, ON with producer Kyle Winkworth.
The new single features The Killjoys’ Mike Trebilcock on lead guitar and backing vocals.
“The song is an ode to getting sober and the trials and tribulations involved in that process,” says singer Ben Andress in a press release.
The Smile Case, which also features bassist Shane McElhone and drummer Jackson Cronmiller, is based out of Tillsonburg, Ontario. Murder Weather was recorded with the help of friends Alex Winkworth, Justin Hammond and Alex Fruch (The Lexington Cure) and guests Delbert Schott (Elias The Band) Connor Lovat-Fraser (Boys Night Out) Mike Trebilcock (The Killjoys) Justis Krar (Single Mothers), Grey Gordon (Kill Surf City) and Brendan B Brown (Wheatus).
