Grammy Award-winning guitarist/producer Paul Nelson, who was Johnny Winter’s band-mate, bandleader, producer, and closest friend, has recorded and released two Christmas songs along with his band – a version of Freddie King’s 1961 holiday blues classic, Christmas Tears and their version of Slade‘s 1973 holiday classic, Merry Christmas Everybody.

Christmas Tears is featured on the album Blues Christmas out now on Cleopatra Records featuring Paul Nelson, Morten Fredheim on vocals, Chris Alexander on bass, Chris Reddan on drums and guest Mike Dimeo on keys.
Nelson has also released his latest album Bad Ass Generation, now out.
In other news, Paul Nelson is coordinating and headlining the first annual “Johnny Winter Winterfest” in Jamaica January 24-31. It’s a great lineup and helps keep alive Johnny’s legacy.
