As a diehard Shinedown fan for more years than I can remember and being from Knoxville, Tennessee it’s always nice to catch a show when they are in town. You never know what to expect from lead singer Brent Smith as this is his hometown and he puts so much into his hometown performances.
Last night was an exceptional one. Me, and many others around me, literally had tears in our eyes. He brought his son’s grandmother on stage to have the crowd sing happy birthday to her. The crowd was more than eager to sing for her.
Any fan knows that Brent always has his family there. He had his grandmother there, as well, in her wheelchair. He told stories of growing up in our town and had the stage set up so that he could sing directly to his family. I travel to see them but Knoxville is just special when they come home.
