The Cult brought their 8424 Tour to History last Friday night and played to a sold-out crowd. It had been over six years since The Cult last performed in Toronto when they played at Budweiser Stage in July 2018.
The Cult played a number of songs from their catalogue which spans over 40 years. They started off with In the Clouds, Rise, and Wild Flower. Throughout the night, The Cult played such fan favorites as Sweet Soul Sister, Fire Woman, Rain, and more. On this particular night at History, The Cult threw in the song War (The Process) – a song off 2001’s Beyond Good and Evil. This marked the first time this song was played live since 2011.
One of the night’s highlights was an acoustic version of Edie (Ciao Baby) with singer Ian Astbury and guitarist Billy Duffy performing on center stage. Love Removal Machine closed the main set.
The encore, featuring Brother Wolf, Sister Moon and one of The Cult‘s most recognizable songs, She Sells Sanctuary, wrapped up an amazing night of music, showing why The Cult continues to captivate audiences.
Hey guys, can we get 40 more years, please?
