Third Eye Blind
Echo Beach
Toronto, Ontario
June 28th 2017
Rain has been a staple here in Toronto this summer, but luckily enough the skies were clear for the outdoor concert. Third Eye Blind performed at the Echo Beach, to a substantial gathering containing primarily a Generation Z crowd.
The show started with the entire band behind a black curtain, which dropped partially through their opening song Weightless. The entire band was perched on an upper level at the back of the stage. They pretty much remained there for nearly 3 songs. Behind them was a huge lit makeshift eye. To add to the entertainment factor singer Stephan Jenkins wore a jacket that had built in lights.
After playing six songs spanning from their entire discography, Jenkins announced that Third Eye Blind was celebrating the 20th anniversary for the release of their freshmen self-titled album Third Eye Blind. They chose to perform this album in it’s entirety at the Echo Beach concert, much to the delight of the crowd.
Easily the fan favorites of the evening was the song Semi-Charmed Life. This song had people singing the chorus at the top of their lungs.
This radio friendly band had an amazing energy and where appreciative of the crowd’s participation to sing-a-longs.
The Third Eye Blind show was a great addition to the summer concert line-up.
