(Las Vegas, NV) – Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Wanda Jackson rocked out in Vegas at Backstage Bar and Billiards on Halloween night. Jackson is a singer, songwriter, pianist and guitarist who had success in the mid-1950s and 1960s as one of the first popular female rockabilly singers and a pioneering rock and roll artist.
She is known to many as the “Queen of Rockabilly” (or “First Lady of Rockabilly”). At 78 years of age, she still knows how to rock the joint! Jackon has toured with all the greats and even dated Elvis Presley – the one who pushed her towards doing rockabilly!
Jackson is known for such hits as Let’s Have A Party and her self-penned Right or Wrong. There’s also some great ‘cuts’ on the Jack White produced album The Party Ain’t Over (2011). She also released an album in 2012, Unfinished Business, which went back to her rockabilly roots and was charted on the Billboard music charts – the first in 39 years!
